Religious Diversity

The project of ‘‘Religious Diversity“ has started in 2018 with a visit of the German side to Tishk International University (TIU) on April, 2018 and the counter-visit of Iraqi/Kurdish faculties was on September 2018, to Potsdam University, Germany. We have the best memories to both events and we are still grateful for your overwhelming hospitality and support.

The project will continue in 2019. First, via video-conferences has been held in January 23, 2019 in Potsdam university and Tishk International University.

In the presence of Professor für Religionswissenschaft, Dr. Stefan Gatzhammer from Potsdam University and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş, Director of international relations office on the date March 24, 2019 in Tishk International University. They had a meeting and they discussed about next activity, which is a summer-school in Potsdam (June/July), for which the DAAD will fund six students and three lecturers from each university.

During the summer school in June/July project participants will discuss religious diversity and study-techniques also with German students and faculty. But the main subject-matter will be the portraits of religious communities that the Erbil field-researchers will present. A publisher in Germany (ERGON-Verlag) signaled interest to publish the results of this project in a book.
