ISHIK UNIVERSITY An ISO granted university with high international standards in Erbil.
Ishik University Delegate paid a courtesy visit to the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Erbil. Hosted by the Deputy Head of the Mission the Consul Evgeny Arzhantsev, Ishik University President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş gave a brief information about the university and its education by stating that Ishik is a non-profit university that invests the money made for education and for further development of the university.
The Deputy Head of the Mission Evgeny Arzhantsev expressed his pleasure to get to know of Ishik University and he said that they will be glad to provide assistance for the collaboration between Ishik University and Russian Universities.
President Öztaş also expressed that the people in Kurdistan, especially in Erbil, are fond of Russian language and for this reason he offered to open a Russian Language course in the Continuing Education Center at the University of Ishik. Furthermore, Rector Öztaş, during the visit, said that they have 47 university staff out of total 318 who know Russian Language so starting a language course will create a natural atmosphere within the campus.
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş and Evgeny Arzhantsev have presented a plaque and exchanged gifts with each other, and finally President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Öztaş has invited His Excellency to the annual Spring Festival of the Language and Culture that will take place on April, 13 2016 on the premises.
