Initial Assessment for ISO 9001:2015 Certification at Ishik University

After being certified with ISO 9001:2008 in July 2015, and due to the issuance of the new version of the standard, Ishik University decided to upgrade its Quality Management System to meet the requirements of the new standard ISO 9001:2015.

For this, the university was subjected to an initial assessment on November 11th by Dr. Basim Hasan Zayr, Lead Auditor at Bureau Veritas.

Bureau Veritas is world leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification and is accredited by The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

The lead auditor was welcomed by Dr. Idris Hadi Salih, the President of Ishik University, and by the vice-presidents.

Ms. Rasha Alkabbanie, the coordinator of Quality Management System, and Ms. Ala Tahsin, ISO Assistant, presented the Quality Management System of the university to the auditor and responded to the auditing requirements.

Adopting a Quality Management System according to this ISO standard improves the efficiency of all the process at Ishik University and increases the reliability and creditability of the university which would lead to more satisfied students and staff and to higher quality academic programs.

The new version of the standard puts a greater emphasize on leadership as helps to address organizational risks and opportunities in a structured manner.

After this initial assessment, a main external auditing is expected to be held in the coming few months for certification process.
